After realizing that there was a lack of serious football matches Murali Dharen (India) and Diego Zelaya (Mexico) decided to set up the Brockwood Premier League. The three teams: Cloysters United, Eco Bayern and Houselona are battling it out for the trophy (cooking a barbeque for the whole community).
The process involved organizing teams (even though there were a couple of injuries previous to the match), dates (despite the lack of time due to the tight exam schedule.) and designing logos for each team.
After having three arduous matches the results point out towards a final amongst Houselona and Cloysters United. The final shall be on Monday 21st of June for which we have rented a football pitch outside of Brockwood.
As mentioned previously, the point of the “tournament” was to involve the community. Therefore we tried to attract them to watch some of the games and it worked pretty well. People came to watch and the whole environment was very enthusiastic (from both, the teams and the spectators). Also towards the end, the winning team will cook a barbeque for the entire community in order to create an activity that will bring people together.
